Recently, we have watched the horrific accounts of the deaths of George Floyd in Minnesota, Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia, and Breonna Taylor in Kentucky. Quality Progressions joins those who oppose racial oppression and are actively working toward racial equity.
Since our beginning in 2004, Quality Progressions has championed diversity and inclusion in meeting our mission to be people driven, committed and progressive in our relationship to individuals with disabilities and their families. To achieve our mission, it is necessary to believe equity involves not only the people we serve, but also the employees that perform the valuable work we do and the communities we serve in. We expect that everybody we touch will be treated with equal respect and value.
We also believe it is our responsibility to speak up when members of our community are being marginalized. It is the time to be clear that Quality Progressions will stand up against racial inequity and we expect all employees will be with us in this.
We want to add a quote sent from Elena Gavin that speaks volumes:
Simply put, our diversity is what makes us great, but to maximize this greatness, it is incumbent on all of us to work harder to understand, appreciate, and care for one another. Let's continue to grow together to achieve excellence. Let’s be together, work together, and become the change!
What if 2020 isn’t “cancelled”?
What if 2020 is the year we’ve been waiting for?
A year so uncomfortable, so painful, so scary, so raw—
That if finally forces us to grow.
A year that screams so loud, finally awakening us from our ignorant slumber.
A year we finally accept the need for change.
Declare change. Work for change. Become the change.
A year we finally band together instead of pushing each other further apart.
2020 isn’t cancelled, but rather
The most important year of them all.” -Leslie Dwight
